This paper takes Lingnan Tiandi in Foshan as the research object, analyzes the spatial transformation and functional reconstruction of Lingnan Tiandi in Foshan by means of historical text analysis,in-depth interviews, and participatory observation research methods, and understands the changes and remodeling of local collective memory in the context of urban renewal. It is found that in the process of urban renewal, the shift of living space to historical and cultural space, the integration of historical and cultural space and commercial space, and the transformation of neighborhood space to public open space are the three main forms of urban space transformation. The process of spatial reconstruction promotes the dynamic flow of local collective memory, and the collective memory continuation based on the space of daily life, the remodeling of collective memory in non-habitual environments, and the generation of new collective memory in the process of urban reconstruction reflect the perception and identification of indigenous residents, tourists and new urban citizens for urban transformation areas from three levels. The paper will provide a decision-making basis for the transformation of historical and cultural blocks and for the construction of urban culture.
