摘　　要：去年,《自然》(Nature)期刊的一篇论文曾引起轰动。这篇题为《新冠一代:疫情会如何影响儿童的大脑发育?》("The COVID generation:how is the pandemic affecting kids'brains?")的文章表明,当代儿童脑部发育已不可避免地受到疫情的影响.The United States has a big problem.Figures recently released show that the testing of student's skills across that country has produced some of the lowest figures ever seen,particularly in the key areas of reading and mathematics.The blame is being placed on school closures in response to the Covid epidemic of the past few years but I have to wonder if that's the complete answer.
