Objective:To investigate the hypoglycemic effect of citrus flavonoids on diabetic mice induced by alloxouracil. Methods:The study utilized citrus peel as the raw material, with the extraction rate of flavonoids serving as the index. The extraction method and process conditions were optimized, followed by the establishment of a mouse diabetes model through intraperitoneal injection of alloxan.Subsequently, the mice were randomly divided into different groups:diabetes model group, glibenuride positive group, and different dose citrus peel flavonoid group.Gavage was administered according to the corresponding dose while recording changes in body weight and blood sugar levels on mice. Results:The blood glucose levels in the model group exhibited a significant increase without any treatment intervention(P<0.05).Following 10 consecutive days of intragastric administration, the high-dose,medium-dose,and drug groups demonstrated significantly lower blood glucose levels compared to the model group. Moreover, the medium-dose group exhibited a more pronounced hypoglycemic effect than the high-dose group. Conclusion:citrus flavonoids effectively reduces blood sugar levels in diabetic mice, providing a theoretical foundation for diabetes treatment and drug development.
