摘　　要：【译者按】1993年,英国戏剧导演彼得·布鲁克改编了奥利弗·萨克斯的神经心理学小说《那个错把妻子当成帽子的男人》,1994年2月18日该剧首演于瑞士苏黎世的格斯涅拉利剧院(Theaterhaus Gessnerallee),接下来又在欧洲各地演出。这部同名戏剧不仅得到了观众的认可,也引起了学术界的热烈议论。在本文翻译的这场对话中,布鲁克和萨克斯又邀请了英国戏剧导演乔纳森·米勒,他也是萨克斯医生的同行。他们以彼得·布鲁克“为什么”和“怎么”改编小说为跨文化戏剧为突破口,进行了一场深度的跨学科对话,不仅引出了文学、艺术、哲学、科学等学科之间的比较与融合的话题,还探讨了艺术与理工学科自身存在的问题。正是因为这些问题及观众最后提出的犀利问题的存在,我们不仅要更加全面地了解某个学科的发展现状,还要深刻反思艺术学科表达的人文关怀的现实意义。In 1993,the English theatre director Peter Brook adapted Oliver Sacks'neuropsychological novel The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat.The play was first performed in the Theaterhaus Gessnerallee in Zurich,Switzerland on February 18,1994,and then performed throughout Europe.The play of the same name has not only been well received by the audience,but also aroused a heated discussion in academic circles.In this conversation,Brook and Sachs,together with Jonathan Miller,a British theater director who also has the same profession with Dr.Sacks.Taking Peter Brook's“why”and“how”to adapt novels into cross-cultural drama as a breakthrough,they conducted a relatively indepth interdisciplinary dialogue,which not only elicited the topic of the comparison and integration between literature,art,philosophy,science and other disciplines,but also discussed the problems existing in art and science.It is precisely because of the existence of these problems and the sharp questions raised by the audience at the end,not only let us have a more comprehensive understanding of the development status of a certain discipline,but also for us to have the profound reflection on the practical significance of humanistic care in the humanities and arts discipline.
