摘　　要：在1950年代中期,英日两国逐渐改变自第二次世界大战结束以来在经贸问题上的对抗态势,并就两国在东南亚地区的共同利益展开了深入合作。本文指出,新中国的崛起对当时英日两国从对抗走向合作的决策产生了重要影响。英日两国的合作既存在对华遏制战略的考虑,也存在对华贸易上的共同利益。通过揭示中国在冷战初期英日关系中所扮演的多元的角色,本文展现了冷战中同阵营国家由于外部因素,既合作又对抗的复杂图景。The present paper,discussing the history of the mid-1950s,in which Britain and Japan ended confrontation in economy and trade and chose instead to conduct in-depth cooperation in the Southeast Asia for their common interests,agues that the rise of New China since 1949 played an important role in this change,as the two countries need to collaborate in containing China and had common interests in trading with China.
