摘　　要：中华文明突出的连续性、创新性、统一性、包容性、和平性,是中华文明长期发展中形成的规律性特征,是中华文明发展规律的内涵。中华文明发展规律就是中华之道。中华之道是中华文明的形成发展之道,是中国所以为中国的原理性揭示,是中华民族共同体团结凝聚的道理总结,也是中华文明和中华民族为人类永续发展贡献的智慧结晶。“五个突出特性”能够准确地刻画中华文明的本质规定性,能够精准呈现中华之道的内涵。连续性对中华之道具有奠基性意义,创新性是中华文明连续发展的内在根据,统一性是中华文明永续发展的内在要求,包容性是实现中华文明统一性的必要途径,和平性是中华文明包容性的价值表现。建设中华民族现代文明,就是要在坚持中华文明突出特性的前提下,充分实现中华文明突出特性的现代化,创造出中华文明的现代形态。中华民族现代文明,必定是对中华文明突出特性一气贯通中创造转化和创新发展的现代文明。The prominent characteristics of Chinese civilization have developed over a long period of time,including five aspects:continuity,creativity,unity,inclusiveness,and peacefulness.They are also the embodiments of the general principles underlying the development of Chinese civilization,which is the Dao of China,that is,the way of the formation and development of Chinese civilization,the revelation of the principle concerning why China is what it is,the summary of the reason of the unity and cohesion of the Chinese national community,as well as the crystallization of the wisdom of the Chinese civilization and the Chinese nation that contributes to the sustainable development of the mankind.These five characteristics accurately delineate the essential norms of Chinese civilization and precisely present the connotation of the Dao of China.Continuity is of foundational significance to the Dao of China,while creativity is the intrinsic basis for the continuous development of Chinese civilization.Unity is the inherent requirement for the sustainable development of Chinese civilization,inclusiveness is the necessary way to realize the unity of Chinese civilization,and peacefulness has expressed the value of the inclusiveness of Chinese civilization.To build a modern Chinese civilization is to modernize and create a modern form of Chinese civilization on the premise of upholding and realizing these distinctive characteristics of Chinese civilization.The modern civilization of the Chinese nation must be a modern civilization that creates,transforms,and develops innovatively in the light of the prominent characteristics of Chinese civilization.
