欧阳修《梅圣俞诗集序》“穷而后工”意涵再探

摘  要:“穷而后工”作为古典诗学中的重要命题,学界对其理论文脉、思想渊源、学理依据、关联命题、后世接受、域外影响、作家个案等方面皆不乏析论,然却未及细致梳理《梅圣俞诗集序》文本的历史语境和该命题的原初意涵。从语义分析和知人论世的角度重新观照此命题,可掘发出其中潜隐的丰富内蕴。“穷”不仅关涉物质境遇,更指向政治仕途,其语义指涉的变化与欧梅二人的政治身份密切相关;“工”不仅指诗歌的技艺之高、言辞之好,更指思想意旨的风雅之正。梅尧臣“穷且工”形象的建构,不仅与其自身的诗歌书写有关,亦有赖欧阳修的一再置评。“Qiong er hou gong”(poor poets can create better works)was an important proposition in classical poetics,there have been many analysis on its theoretical context,ideological origin,academic basis,relevant proposition,acceptance by later generations,external influence and writer’s case studies.However,most scholars,when elucidating its meaning,placed in the context of connected literary theories such as“poetry can complain”,“writing books with passion”,“crying out injustice”,“poetry can make the poor”,and so on,to interpret the relationship between the ups and downs of the writer’s individual life and the actual craftsmanship of creation.Correspondingly,there are few comprehensive and in-depth studies on the historical background and text situation of how the proposition was developed.Moreover,the respective identity and power relations of the addresser(Ouyang Xiu),the addressee(Mei Yaochen)was also scarcely explored.Therefore,this paper tries to investigate this proposition with such specific aspects.By closely reading the original context,this paper first clarifies the key words“qiong”and“gong”,then sorts out the official experience of OuYangxiu and Mei Yaochen,and finally clears up its relevance with the proposition.
