Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is a malignant tumor originating from human nasopharyngeal epithelium. The prognosis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients with recurrence and metastasis is poor.Activation of mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)signaling pathways can regulate a variety of transcriptional activities, from cell proliferation to apoptosis, inflammation, migration, and angiogenesis, through mechanisms within cancer cells and interactions with the tumor microenvironment, and promote or inhibit tumorigenesis and development. In nasopharyngeal carcinoma, abnormal MAPK activity is significantly related to the pathogenesis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma, and may be a potential therapeutic target for nasopharyngeal carcinoma.Further research progress on the function and mechanism of MAPK in nasopharyngeal carcinoma can provide reference for the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment strategy of nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients.
