The aviation hub city attracts transactions and production due to its rapid market response ability, thus be-coming an international talent highland. This paper establishes a multi-step multi-intermediary effect mod-el and uses the data of 36 large and medium-sized cities in China to test the main mechanism of the influ-ence of international aviation network embeddedness on international talent attraction of cities. The results show that:(1)the direct effect is that air transport facilitates the cross-regional interaction of talents,ac-counting for 67.79%of the total effect;(2)Air transport promotes the development of innovative industrial clusters around airports and provides a broad development platform for international talents, accounting for 26.49%of the total effect and 83.66%of all intermediary effects;(3)Air transport promotes the formation and dissemination of a good image of the city and enhances the charm of the city, accounting for 4.63%of the total effect and 14.40%of all the intermediary effect;(4)The two-step intermediary effect that runs through industrial cluster development and urban image optimization can be ignored.
