摘 要:考察世界文学和文学理论话语之间的关系以及理论和诗学在西方、中东和中国的文化语境中的比较性关系,可以发现诗学和理论二者应被去同义化(de-synonymised),在这些文化区域中,理论与诗学的概念以不同方式形成和运作,对这些差异的分析涉及一种超越了现有西方理论假设的概念工具。当今,作为西方文化体制产物的“文学理论”,不应再固守旧有观念,而应该尊重和承认世界不同地区独特的文化资源和文学传统。相应地,“世界文学”作为一个宏观的、动态的研究领域,要以包容的态度和多元化的视角来构建自己的体系,以保持文学探索的自由性、客观性和丰富性。The paper discusses the relationship between world literature and literary theory,and that between theory and poetics.It suggests that the latter relationship is better understood through a de-synonymisation that allows us to acknowledge the existence of differently shaped and differently functioning cultural zones,whose analysis involves a conceptual toolkit not available to Western theory.The birth of World Literature as a field of reflection and study has little to do with academic literary scholarship.This origin has multiple implications for the self-understanding of the academic discourse of World Literature today.Such an understanding is also aided by an attempt to delineate different meanings of“theory”.One such version is to understand theory as substantially overlapping with Continental philosophy—principally French poststructuralist theory or Hegelian dialectics.A second version focuses on a granular,time-limited episteme,that of literature or the other arts:music,architecture,theatre,film,etc.Tracing the genealogies of these different versions of“theory”enables an understanding of World Literature in the context of a resistance to theory,to which it also contributes.Eurocentric modes of disembodied,universalizing thinking,exemplified in literary theory,is being challenged alongside this resistance to theory.Alternative intellectual practices from divergent cultural zones—with an emphasis on China and the Middle East—in the form of poetics,serve as contrasting heuristics for grasping the present shape and futures of World Literature.In these places,reflections on literature were not practiced through the lens of theory but poetics.In China,poetry is weaved into state institutions via the civil service examination system,and literature does not position itself antagonistically to the state.Just as importantly,a different positioning of literature in the greater society manifests in the Middle East in how it relates to religious institutions.A rigid insistence on originality and iconoclasm
