阐释学视域下民俗文化词英译策略研究——以《西和乞巧歌》英译本为例  

A Study on the English Translation Strategies of Folklore Culture Words from the Perspective of Hermeneutics Theory:Take English Version of Xihe Qiqiao Songs as an Example

摘　　要：二十一世纪初,以彭建明、蒋贤萍等为代表的学者将赵逵夫先生主编的《西和乞巧歌》翻译成英文,这对于向英语世界传播中国民间歌谣及民间民俗文化有重要的意义和价值。文章以乔治·斯坦纳阐释学翻译理论四步骤为指引,分析了原作中祭祀礼俗类以及婚姻礼俗类民俗文化词的内涵意义,并结合译本中翻译的实例及乞巧歌、英语歌谣的特点展开研究。研究发现,译者对于此类民俗文化词的翻译,基于归化、异化以及中西文化缺省补偿原则的翻译策略,采用了意译、直译或音译加注释的翻译方法,准确、有效地传递了具有地方特色的乞巧文化。At the beginning of the 21st century,scholars such as Peng Jianming and Jiang Xianping translated the book Xihe Qiqiao Songs edited by Mr.Zhao Kuifu into English,which has significant importance and value in spreading Chinese folk songs and folk customs to the English-speaking world.The article uses George Steiner's hermeneutic translation theory as a guide,and analyzes the connotative meanings of folk cultural words related to sacrificial customs and marriage customs in the original works.By combining examples of translation of such folk cultural words in the translated version with the characteristics of Qiqiao songs and English ballad,it summarizes translation strategies.The translator,based on the translation strategies of domestication,foreignization,and compensation for cultural omissions between Chinese and Western cultures,adopted such translation methods as free translation,literal translation or transliteration plus annotation.This conveys accurately and effectively the local characteristics of the Qiqiao culture to the English-speaking world.
