School uniforms with both functional and egalitarian implications, are an effective means of student management in secondary schools. However, the de-personalized and de-gendered school uniforms also continue to regulate students'physical and mental development.Under the cultural conflict and cooperation between School mainstream culture and youth subculture,students'dress-up behaviours follow the situational rules under the temporal and spatial transformation, which sheds lights on their complex and variable identities.Based on the theoretical framework of"embodied identities",this study focuses on 33 college student subcultural dressers by tracing and retelling their past dress-up experience. This study compares and interprets their bodily resistances and embodied identities from their secondary schools to universities, revealing their bodily management and identity construction of subcultural dressers as students. The study finds that the body resistance of student dressers shifted from escape, concealment,to revelry. The construction of student identity and subcultural identity presents multiple embodied identities under the intertwining of synchronicity and diachronicity.
