万辅彬与南方少数民族科技史研究重镇的构筑

摘  要:广西民族大学科技史学科奠基人万辅彬先生最初从事铜鼓研究,后来又将研究领域拓展至科技考古、技术史与传统工艺、科学技术与社会等方向。在这个过程中,万辅彬注意到学科建制化对学科发展的可持续性具有重要意义,于是逐渐在方向凝练、人才引进、队伍建设、平台搭建、专业建制、学术交流等方面下功夫。经过数十年的不懈努力,广西民族大学科技史学科从铜鼓研究室蜕变为科技史与科技文化研究院,成为全国为数不多的具有独立行政建制的科技史研究院,被国内外学术界誉为中国“南方少数民族科技史研究重镇”。Mr.Wan Fubin,the founder of the Department of Science and Technology History at Guangxi Minzu University,initially engaged in the study of bronze drums,and later engaged in scientific and technological archaeology,research on technological history and traditional craftsmanship,and research on science,technology,and society.During this process,Wan Fubin noticed the important significance of disciplinary institutionalization for the sustainability of disciplinary development,and gradually put in efforts in professional condensation,talent introduction,team building,platform building,professional institutionalization,academic exchange,and other aspects.After decades of unremitting efforts,the Science and Technology History discipline of Guangxi Minzu University has transformed from the Science and Technology History Research Office to the Science and Technology History and Science and Technology Culture Research Institute,becoming one of the few independent science and technology history research institutes in China.It is hailed by the domestic and foreign academic community as a"research center for the history of science and technology of southern ethnic minorities"in China.
