父辈健康对家庭消费的影响——兼论医疗保险的缓解效应

摘　　要：人口老龄化深刻影响着家庭养老、医疗负担,基于中国家庭追踪调查(CFPS)数据系统考察了与子女同住父辈的健康状况衰退对家庭消费的影响以及医疗保险的缓解效应。研究发现:父辈健康衰退显著降低了家庭消费。机制检验表明,父辈健康衰退通过减少代际向下照料和经济支持,增加代际向上照料和经济支持,降低了子女的劳动参与和预算约束并抑制消费。男性、高龄老人健康衰退,对户主为女性、低受教育水平家庭消费的抑制效应更为显著。参与城镇职工医疗保险有助于缓解父辈健康衰退对双向代际照料、经济支持机制的扭曲影响,平滑家庭消费。因此,应警惕老龄健康问题在家庭养老模式下的消费抑制风险。Population aging profoundly affects family eldercare and medical burdens.Utilizing data from the China Family Panel Studies(CFPS),this study examines the impact of health decline among cohabiting parents on household consumption and the mitigating effects of health insurance.The findings reveal that the health deterioration of parents significantly reduces household consumption.Mechanistic analysis indicates that this decline in paternal health reduces intergenerational downward care and financial support while increasing upward care and financial support,which diminishes children’s labor force participation and budget constraints,thereby suppressing consumption.The health decline of older males and seniors exerts a more pronounced inhibitory effect on household consumption,especially in households headed by women with lower levels of education.Participation in urban employee health insurance is conducive to alleviating the distorting impact of parental health deterioration on the bidirectional intergenerational care and financial support mechanisms,thereby stabilizing household consumption.There is a need for vigilance against the potential for consumption suppression stemming from health issues associated with aging within the family-based elderly care system.
