“大写的科学革命”的科学思想史叙事何以可能?

摘　　要：肖显静教授的《科学思想史》是一本极具史料性、研究性、综合性和创新性的科学思想史新著,是中国科学思想史研究有了自己独特的研究视角、方法和观点而走向成熟的标志性成果,展现了国内科学思想史研究从最初的恩格斯的自然辩证法研究传统发展到利用西方科学哲学理论研究科学思想史的研究传统之后出现的新阶段和新范式——综合论的科学思想史研究。但是,这样的研究和叙事似乎存在一些较难克服的矛盾和问题:作为核心概念“大写的科学革命”的建构性过强,也不够清晰;该概念与“小写的科学革命”概念之间关系可能存在逻辑顺序颠倒使用的问题;从自然观变革到方法论创新再到科学革命的递进和变化关系并非作者论述的那么简单,恰恰是要展开、解释并加以说明的。这种“大写的科学革命”的科学思想史叙事可能是此书的最大亮点,但也可能成为人们热烈关注的争议点和突出问题。The History of Scientific Thought by Professor Xiao Xianjing is a new book of the history of scientific thought with great historical material,research,comprehensiveness and innovation.It is a landmark achievement that the research of the history of scientific thought in China has its own unique research perspective,methods and viewpoints and has matured.It shows a new stage and a new paradigm of the study of the history of scientific thought in China from the original tradition of Engels’dialectics of nature to the tradition of using western philosophy of science to study the history of scientific thought.However,such research and narration seem to have some contradictions and problems that are difficult to overcome:as the core concept,“great scientific revolution”is too constructive and not clear enough;the relationship between this concept and the concept of“scientific revolution in lower case”may be reversed in logical order;the relationship of progress and change from the change of the view of nature to the innovation of methodology and then to the scientific revolution is not so simple as the author imagined,which need to be expanded,explained and elaborated.This narrative of the history of scientific thought of“great scientific revolution”may be the biggest highlight of this book,but it may also become a controversial point and outstanding problem that people pay close attention to.
