科普作品《万物简史》中幽默的理解与表达

摘　　要：优秀的科普作品往往既具有文学性又有高度的趣味性,读者往往需要一些高阶的认知能力才能充分欣赏此类作品。比尔·布莱森的科普名著《万物简史》就是一部趣味性突出的科普作品。本文通过对此书中典型的幽默话语的分析指出,对于趣味性突出的科普作品,译者需具有广博的知识,了解大众流行文化,掌握时尚的幽默话语,才能精准、适切地翻译出源语文本中的趣味元素。An excellent popular science work often has high literary quality and contain humorous language,which requires the reader to have some high-level cognitive skills in order to fully appreciate it.Bill Bryson’s famous popular science work,A Short History of Nearly Everything,is famous for its humorous language.Through the analysis of the humorous cases in this book,this paper points out that in order to successfully translate popular science works like this one,the translator needs to have extensive knowledge,understand popular culture and keep himself/herself up-to-date with fashionable humorous expressions,so as to accurately and appropriately render the humorous elements of the source text.
