摘　　要：美国当代汉学家牟复礼所撰《诗人高启》是英语世界首部高启评传。牟复礼以“文史”为基础、以诗歌为主要素材,不仅勾勒出高启生平,还阐述了高氏的思想与人生态度,为西方读者成功塑造了明代高启伟大诗人的形象。牟复礼在《诗人高启》中翻译的高启诗歌再现了原诗的意义与形式。他兼用归化、异化翻译策略,侧重情感与意象的传译。《诗人高启》在西方世界备受汉学界关注,是一部特色鲜明、意义非凡的代表性英文中国古代诗人传记。The Poet Kao Ch'i,written by contemporary American sinologist Frederick W.Mote,is the first critical biography of Gao Qi in the English-speaking world.Taking“literature and history”as the foundation,Mote uses poetry as the primary material,to not only outline Gao Qi's life,but also to delve into his thoughts and life philosophy.He effectively portrays Gao Qi as the great poet of the Ming Dynasty to Western readers.In The Poet Kao Ch'i,Mote's translations of Gao's poems faithfully reproduce the original meaning and forms.He employs both domestication and foreignization strategies,with a particular focus on conveying emotions and imagery.The Poet Kao Ch'i has garnered significant attention in Western Sinology,standing out as a distinctive and influential English biography of an ancient Chinese poet.
