概念史视域下中国传统哲学术语英译的意义建构

摘　　要：中国传统哲学术语是中华民族思维方式、精神追求和价值理念的高度凝结,也是世界其他国家和民族了解中华优秀传统文化的钥匙。通过梳理中国传统哲学术语发展的历史流变性、诠释性和动态语境性特征,借鉴概念史的研究方法并结合典型术语的案例分析,从追“根”以译出核心义、溯“流”以译出历史义和问“境”以译出语用义三个维度探讨了中国传统哲学术语英译的意义建构。唯有建构起中国传统哲学术语理解的历史、文化和语用的多维视域,方能为全面把握术语的含义进而准确翻译之提供充分条件。As crystallizations of the Chinese nation's way of thinking,spiritual pursuit and values,traditional Chinese philosophical terms are the keys for other countries and nations in the world to understand China's traditional culture.Based on the historical variability,interpretability and dynamic contextual characteristics of traditional Chinese philosophical terms and enlightened by the research methods of conceptual history,this paper explores the construction of meaning in translating traditional Chinese philosophical terms from the three perspectives of tracing the"root"to translate the core meaning,tracing the"flow"to translate the historical meaning,and clarifying the"context"to translate the pragmatic meaning with some examples of typical Chinese philosophical terms.Only by constructing a multi-dimensional perspective of history,culture and pragmatics for understanding traditional Chinese philosophical terms can we provide sufficient conditions for grasping the true meaning of terms and then translating them accurately.
