摘　　要：[1]One swallow does not make a summer,but one skein of geese,cleaving the murk of a March thaw,is the spring.[2]A cardinal,whistling spring to a thaw but later finding himself mistaken,can retrieve his error by resuming his winter silence.A chipmunk,emerging for a sunbath but finding a blizzard,has only to go back to bed.But a migrating goose,staking two hundred miles of black night on the chance of finding a hole in the lake,has no easy chance for retreat.His arrival carries the conviction of a prophet who has burned his bridges.[1]谚日一燕不成夏,但劈开三月解冻期雾飞来的一群大雁可真就是春天了。[2]一见雪融就歌唱春天的主红雀,发现自己弄错后可知错就改,乖乖地恢复其冬日臧默。想出来晒太阳却遭遇暴风雪的花栗鼠,也只须再钻回自家地窝。可摸黑飞了两百英里、一心就指望在冻湖上找到个冰窟的大雁,想要回头就没那么容易了。大雁归来是怀着一种信念,一种预言者自断退路的信念。
