The intestinal tract is a place for nutrient digestion and absorption, where large organic molecules in food are broken down into small molecules under the action of various enzymes and enter the body's internal environment through the intestinal epithelial cells to maintain the physiological functions of various tissues, organs, and systems. The intestine is also an important immune organ, and about 70%of the body's immune cells are in the digestive tract.Nutrients in food can directly or indirectly act on the immune cells in the digestive tract to regulate the body's intestinal mucosal immune function. Therefore, targeting the immune function of the GI tract by optimizing or adjusting the dietary structure is expected to be an important way to improve the overall immunity and health of cats. This paper reviewed the effects and regulation of nutrients such as proteins, small peptides, amino acids, and fats on the immune system of the digestive tract mucosa of cats, aimed to provide a scientific basis for the rational formulation of pet food and thus the protection of pet health.
