摘　　要：威廉·福克纳是美国文学“现代化”进程中的一个特别存在,他的小说兼有现代知识分子、农民、文学大师等多重气质。这种独特的气质渗透进他的小说中,表现为独特的语言景观。福克纳的小说善于用多变营造语言的密林,带领读者进行语言冒险。具体而言,福克纳小说多变的语言景观可以从三方面了解:句法层面,长短句各有千秋;修辞层面,比喻和反讽各有其用;地域层面,乡土方言使人物形象更加突出。William Faulkner stands as a unique presence in the"modernization"process of American literature.His novels embodies multifaceted qualities such as modern intellectuals,farmers,and literary masters.These unique temperaments are rooted in his novels,manifesting itself as a unique linguistic landscape.Faulkner's novels excel in crafting intricate forests of language through versatility,leading readers on linguistic adventures.Specifically,the varied linguistic landscape in Faulkner's novels can be understood from three aspects:at the syntactic level,where both long and short sentences excel in their respective ways;At the rhetorical level,where metaphor and irony serve distinct purposes;At the region-al level,vernacular dialects enhance the distinctiveness of characters.
