摘  要:如何成功推动开放式创新,是一个重要的议题。然而,现有关于开放式创新决定因素的文献主要集中在组织和情境因素方面,而对其“人性”的一面仍不甚了解。为了填补这一研究缺口,本文试图将高层梯队理论与开放式创新文献联系起来,利用中国上市公司的大样本数据,研究CEO强自信的倾向如何影响其对不同开放式创新模式的偏好,以及技术激进性和从属高管团队(TMT)治理分别对该过程的中介与调节作用。研究发现,随着自信程度的增加,CEO更倾向于采用外部技术获取而不是外部技术开发,技术激进性在其中起到部分中介作用。同时,TMT治理能有效缓解强自信的CEO对外部技术获取的过分偏好,从而降低对企业绩效的消极影响。本文的研究结论为促进高层梯队理论和开放式创新文献的融合研究提供了理论借鉴。Innovation is often considered as a key factor for firms to achieve growth,especially for firms in emerging economies such as China.Therefore,understanding the drivers of firm innovation has become an important topic in the innovation literature.Given the critical role of CEO in the firm′s strategic decision-making process,scholars have begun to explore the impact of CEO′s personal characteristics on firm innovation,among which overconfidence is particularly concerned.However,whether an overconfident CEO can promote firm innovation has not yet reached a consensus.The possible reason is that previous studies regarded innovation as a whole,but few have explored the impact of CEO on specific innovation activities.Therefore,this paper concentrates on an open innovation(OI)perspective,especially specific types of OI modes,and attempts to explore the preference of an overconfident CEO towards them.OI has been chosen because it can help firms gain and update their competitive advantages especially in today′s rapidly changing business environment.This form of innovation is reflected in the inward and outward flow of knowledge and technology across firm boundaries for interactive exchange and collaborative innovation.Although a large number of studies have explored the antecedents of OI,most of them focus on organizational-level factors and contingencies,with relatively less attention paid to the role of human factors at the micro-level.This limited analysis of micro-level within an organization is noteworthy because they are also key in determining the adoption of certain OI modes by the firm.Moreover,existing research has focused on the direct impact of overconfident CEOs on firm innovation,while the path mechanisms involved are not well understood.Among them,the firm′s technology strategy is a non-negligible factor that plays a transmission role between the key decision maker and OI strategies.An overconfident CEO tends to develop more aggressive technology strategies,which in turn influence various OI modes.In
