With the development of modern education, the importance of Physical Education in higher vocational colleges has been increasing.Table Tennis,as a sport beloved by students, not only improves their physical fitness but also cultivates their coordination, reaction speed, and team spirit. However, current Table Tennis teaching in higher vocational colleges still faces many problems in teaching methods, curriculum design, and teaching effectiveness, severely restricting the effective acquisition and comprehensive development of students'motor skills.Specifically, these problems include insufficient teaching staff, outdated teaching facilities, unreasonable curriculum design, monotonous teaching methods, and an imperfect evaluation system. This paper explores the application of motor skill acquisition theory in Table Tennis teaching by analyzing the theory's definition, development, and main influencing factors, and proposes a series of optimization strategies based on these analyses, including optimizing teaching objectives and content, innovating teaching methods, enhancing teachers'professional quality, and improving the teaching environment, aiming to improve the quality of Table Tennis teaching and students'overall abilities.
