跨太平洋研究在美国兴起的学术渊源、理论构建及其启示意义

摘　　要：作为一个地缘政治概念,跨太平洋蕴含了太平洋周边区域及国家间错综复杂的政治、经济、军事和文化联结。构成这种联结的因素共同参与到一种跨越国界、民族、区域和语言的文化生产中,并在人文社会科学领域产生出“跨太平洋位移”“跨太平洋想象”“跨太平洋诗学”及“跨太平洋联盟”等学术话语。这些术语又自觉融合到北美“跨太平洋研究”这个较大的学术话语名称之下,并助力推动它发展成为一门显学。跨太平洋研究正好契合中美文学关系研究力求突破美学层面的局限的需求,同时迎合了区域国别学视域下的文学研究关注美学意义之外的文化政治涵义的趣味,对两者都意义非凡。因此,本文着力梳理跨太平洋研究在北美兴起的学术渊源和理论建构,并探讨其给中美文学关系及区域国别学视域下的文学研究带来的丰富启示。As a geopolitical concept, the transpacific encompasses the intricate political, economic, military, and culturalconnections between regions and countries around the Pacific. These factors jointly participate in a culturalproduction that crosses national boundaries, ethnic groups, regions, and languages, and produces academicdiscourses such as “transpacific displacement”, “transpacific imagination”. Transpacific studies aligns with the needfor research on China-US literary relations to break through the limitations of aesthetics. It meanwhile caters to theinterests of literary research from perspectives of regional and national studies to focus on cultural and politicalimplications other than aesthetic significance. Therefore, this article explores the origins and theoretical constructionof transpacific studies in North America, and the rich implications it brings to China-US literary relations andliterary research from perspectives of regional and national studies.
