摘　　要：科尔姆·托宾的作品一直以来都以描绘爱尔兰社会和流散者的生活为特征,尤其关注移民的身份认同问题。科尔姆·托宾的小说《布鲁克林》同样探讨了“流散”和“身份”问题,描写了一位从爱尔兰移居纽约的流散者在异国他乡的流散经历及其身份构建的过程。本文结合流散批评和身份理论,分析了《布鲁克林》中女主人公艾利斯的身份焦虑和曲折的文化身份构建过程,以及艾利斯往返于爱尔兰文化身份和美国文化身份间所面临的困境,旨在揭示爱尔兰移民及其后裔在追求自我价值和构建身份的过程中的挣扎与迷茫。Colm Tóibín’s novels have always been characterized by the depiction of Irish society and the lives of immigrants,with a particular focus on the issue of immigrants’identity.Colm Tóibín’s novel Brooklyn similarly addresses“diaspora”and“identity”issues,portraying the experiences of Irish people living abroad and their psychological changes involved in constructing their identities.Combining diaspora criticism and identity theory,this paper analyzes the identity dilemma and identity construction of Elis in the process of shuttling between Irish and American cultures,as well as the choice Eilis experiences when facing her dual cultural identity,and attempts to reveal the struggles,disorientation of Irish immigrants to America and their descendants in the process of pursuing self-worth and constructing a new identity.
