摘　　要：本文基于语料库,从构式视角对因果连词BECAUSE和SINCE的句法、语义、语用、认知以及语篇等多个维度进行探讨,并通过多重对应分析对其互换性和变异性进行统计考察。研究发现:1)趋近BECAUSE构式原型范畴的核心变量水平为“果因顺序”“客观力动态”“静态特征”,趋近SINCE构式原型范畴的核心变量水平为“有阻隔标记”“主观力动态”“动态特征”;2)驱动二者互换性的变量水平有“对抗关系”“致使型”“阻止型”,驱动二者变异性的变量水平与其原型的核心变量水平一致;3)二者处于因果力动态“原型—样例”连续统中的不同位置,各变量水平之间相互影响、相互制约,其中“有阻隔标记”与“主观力动态”相互关联,“果因顺序”与“客观力动态”相互关联。这些发现进一步揭示了两个构式的范畴化特征及深层认知机制。Based on corpus data,this study explores the syntactic,semantic,pragmatic,cognitive,and discoursal properties of the causal conjunctions BECAUSE and SINCE from the perspective of construction grammar and statistically examines their interchangeability and variability using multiple correspondence analysis.This study derives the following findings:1)The core variable levels approaching the prototype of BECAUSE construction include"backward,""causing,"and"static,"while those approaching the prototype of SINCE construction comprise"p.yes,""reasoning,"and"dynamic."2)The variable levels that drive the interchangeability of the two are identifed as"opposition,""cause,"and"prevent,"while those driving their variability align with the core variable levels of their respective prototypes.3)Both constructions are in different positions along the causal prototype-sample continuum,where their variable levels mutually influence and constrain one another;in particular,"p.yes"correlates with"reasoning,"whereas"backward"correlates with"causing."These findings reveal the properties of the categorization of the two causal constructions and their underlying cognitive mechanisms.
