摘　　要：在以梁启超、梁漱溟为代表所推进的近代以来带有伦理启蒙性质的“公德—私德”之辩中,有关中国传统道德之公共性向度缺失已成共识,这被视为养成现代公民道德需要直面且必须予以纾解的文化难题,加之当前公民道德遭遇的现实问题,可能进一步放大这一缺陷及对传统道德的责难。然而,走出这一困境并不意味着只能外求,而是应当探寻中国文化传统之伦理信仰与公民道德养成之间的涵蕴关系。借助将传统宗教信仰进行理性化、世俗化改造之后公民宗教的孕育、涵养与转化,西方现代公民道德得以生成,然而,中西方文化从一开始就走向了不同的发展路径,传统中国并未产生西方式制度性宗教及其独一排他的信仰模式,但对伦理实体及其构成的整全世界的信仰塑造了传统中国的信仰形态,它具有支配人的内在心灵与指导人的道德实践的功能。这意味着创造性转化与创新性发展中国传统的伦理信仰,使之为现代公民道德养成与完善提供价值资源,是一项具有时代意义的伦理学课题。Since modern times,in the“Public-Private Morality”debate with ethical enlightenment promoted by figures such as by Liang Qichao and Liang Shuming,it has become a consensus that the public orientation of traditional Chinese morality has been missing.This is regarded as a cultural dilemma that needs to be confronted and resolved in order to develop a modern civic morality.At the present time,the actual problem of civic morality may further exacerbate this deficiency and criticism of traditional morality.However,escaping this dilemma does not mean that solution can only seek outside,we should explore the implicit relationship between ethical belief and civic moral development.Through the nurturing,nourishment and transformation of civic religion after the rationalization and secularization of traditional religious beliefs,modern civic morality in the West has been generated.However,Chinese and Western cultures have been heading towards different paths of development from the very beginning.Traditional China did not develop Western-style institutional religions or the exclusive modes of belief.Instead,the belief in ethical entities and the holistic world they constitute shaped the faith form of traditional China,which has the power to govern the minds of men and direct their moral practice.This implies that the creative inheritance and innovative development of traditional Chinese ethical beliefs,so that they can provide value resources for the moral development and improvement of modern citizens,is an ethical issue of contemporary significance.
