Before the rise of social media, women's health issues rarely had the opportunity to be publicly discussed. The advent of social media has provided women with a platform that allows them to easily obtain health information from professional doctors and participate in discussions. In recent years, several de-pathologization#hashtag#campaigns regarding cervical erosion have emerged on Weibo.Guided by the concept of body politics, this study examined the issue publics'de-pathologization strategies. This study reflected the health attitude and gender culture in contemporary China.Implications regarding how Weibo hashtags can be used as a mechanism for the issue publics to resist the oppression of medical and commercial powers are discussed.
