摘 要:与大量存在的学术文本翻译实务相比,针对学术文本翻译的研究并未引起足够重视,尤其是汉语学术文本英译研究。融翻译与改写为一体的译写概念是与时俱进的翻译理念,更是促进高质量中华学术外译的有效机制。借助系统功能语言学的元功能思想,汉语学术文本英译的译写操作可以体现在概念信息、人际互动和谋篇布局三个维度。概念维度的译写体现为信息内容的增加、减少和改写;人际维度的译写包括语气和情态操作;谋篇维度的译写主要涉及语步结构和信息重组。汉语学术文本英译译写的理据源于汉英学术文本不同的语类规约以及目标语读者的阅读体验和译本接受。Compared with the expansive practices of scholarly translation,research on the translation of academic texts remains relatively scarce,especially the English translation of Chinese academic texts.We propose the concept of transwriting,which strategically integrates translation and rewriting,as a timely response to the need for high-quality translation of Chinese academic works.Informed by the metafunctions in Systemic Functional Linguistics,this paper examines transwriting in the English translation of Chinese academic texts from three dimensions:ideational transwriting for information,interpersonal transwriting for interaction, and textual transwriting for text organization. Ideational transwriting is achieved in the addition, deletion and rewriting of academic content. Interpersonal transwriting typically operates on the system of mood and modality. Textual transwriting mainly targets move structure and information restructuring. The practice of transwriting should attend to the discursive conventions in Chinese and English academia, as well as the reading experience of the target readers and their acceptance of the translated texts.
