摘　　要：社会企业是采用商业手段解决复杂社会问题的新型组织,探讨影响其社会绩效的因素有助于发挥社会企业在新时期社会治理方面的积极作用。儒家文化作为中国社会最具代表性的主流社会文化,潜移默化地影响本土社会企业的发展。而现有研究鲜少探讨儒家文化与中国社会企业之间的关系及其发挥作用的作用机制和边界条件。基于制度理论,系统地探讨了儒家文化对中国社会企业提升社会绩效的影响及其组织边界条件。通过统计清代各省进士数量构建历史截面数据,并与当代中国社会企业专项调查数据进行匹配,实证分析发现地方儒家文化对中国社会企业提高社会绩效有正向影响。同时,这一作用在较大的地理服务范围和较少的组织资源禀赋下更加明显。研究结论为探究中国社会企业发展与传统文化内在动力提供了理论依据。Social enterprises(SEs)are new types of organisations that adopt commercial means to solve complex social problems.An investigation into the factors affecting their social performance can enhance the positive role of SEs in social governance in the new era.Confucian culture has an implicit influence on the development of local social enterprises.However,few existing studies have explored the relationship between Confucian culture and social enterprises in China,or the mechanisms and boundary conditions underlying this relationship.Based on institutional theory,it systematically investigated the impact of Confucian culture on the social performance enhancement of social enterprises in China and the organizational boundary conditions of this impact,by constructing historical crosssectional data through the number of successful candidates in the Qing Dynasty’s imperial examinations at the provincial level and matching it with the contemporary special survey data of social enterprises in China.The empirical analysis reveals the positive influence of local Confucian culture on the social performance of social enterprises in China.Meanwhile,this effect is more pronounced in social enterprises with a larger geographical service scope and fewer organizational resource endowments.The research conclusion provides a theoretical basis for exploring the internal driving force of traditional culture in the development of social enterprises in China.
