典籍外译中译者翻译决策的关键点研究——以《庄子·逍遥游》两个英译本比较为例

摘　　要：中国在五千多年的历史岁月中保留下来众多经典,但是这些典籍的外译却困难重重,由于中外语言文化思想等方面存在巨大差异,导致译者在翻译过程中面临诸多纠结但不得不做出自己的抉择,学界对此关注较少。基于此,本文通过对《庄子·逍遥游》的两个代表性英译本进行比较,从中发现典籍外译过程中译者需要进行翻译决策的关键点,译者在这些翻译决策的关键点上的不同选择构成了其独特的译文风格。China has preserved many classics in its over 5,000 years of history.However,it is very difficult for the translators to translate them into foreign languages,because of the huge differences in Chinese and foreign languages,cultures and thoughts.As a result,translators face many entanglements in the translation process,they have to make their own choices.Up to now,there is little academic research on this.Therefore,this article compares two representative English translations of"Zhuangzi's Free and Easy Wandering"to find the critical points on which translator have to make translation decisions.Different choices in the translation decisions on these critical points form a unique translation style.
