摘  要:根据当代实证科学的新发现,恐惧是最原始的自我保护系统,无须意识的介入就能够自动运行,属于反应速度最快、最为强势的基本情绪,可以分为短暂的剧烈恐惧和可长时存在的持续恐惧,是思想和行动的主导。高潮中的剧烈恐惧是悲剧的核心,与若干重要场景的剧烈恐惧一起构成悲剧的基本框架,持续恐惧和其他情感形成悲剧的次一级框架,各种思想和行动都为这个情感系统服务。恐惧最容易触动读者的心,所以以描写恐惧为主要目标的悲剧广受读者的喜欢,甚至被西方人视为艺术的皇冠。优秀的悲剧常常具有诗意的语言、深刻的思想、生动的情节、丰富的性格等,但离开了恐惧这一基调,悲剧就不可能那么震撼人心。According to recent findings in contemporary empirical science,fear,recognized as the most ancient automatic self-protection mechanism that operates without conscious intervention,is the most dominant emotion due to its unparalleled speed of reaction.Fear controls both thought and action and can be categorized into two subtypes:acute,short-term fear and prolonged,sustained fear.In tragedy,acute fear serves as the nucleus,shaping the general climax and key scenes,forming the play's fundamental structure.Sustained fear,along with other emotions,creates secondary layers of structure,while the characters' thoughts and actions branch out as extensions of this emotional system.By rapidly resonating with the audience's emotions and centering on fear,tragedy holds a distinguished place in Western art,often celebrated as the "crown of arts".While good tragedies are notable for their poetic language,vivid plots,and rich character development,they cannot achieve their full impact without fear as their central theme.
