学术期刊对社会科学学科发展的意义——以社会学学科为例

摘　　要：学术期刊和图书是自然科学和人文社会科学发布和传播科学发现或学术见解的两种主要途径。同人文学科相比,除了社会科学更依赖学术期刊发布自己的知识成果外,期刊对学科发展还具有一系列鲜明的意义:它表征了一学科的存在理由,也体现了学科内部的分歧;它展示了某一学科内部的学术精进过程,不仅学者常常借用工作论文到期刊论文再到学术专著的形式提升自己的话语复杂性,而且在较长时段上也能体现出学术精进的发展轨迹;它孵化了科学家共同体或学术共同体,一方面共同体的形成会表现出地域性特征,另一方面不同的亚学术共同体也会相互影响;它培育了民族精神和自主知识体系的建构,社会学学科有关“社会学中国化”的百年讨论历程就是最好的例证。最后,文章以社会学学科为例,讨论了学术期刊如何通过关注总体性引领学术发展,以及网络化时代传统学术期刊所遭遇的机遇与挑战。Academic journals and books are the two main channels for the release and dissemination of scientific discoveries or academic insights in both natural sciences and humanities and social sciences.Compared with the humanities,in addition to the fact that social sciences rely more on academic journals to publish their knowledge achievements,academic journals also have a series of distinct meanings for the development of disciplines:they represent the existence reason of a discipline and reflect the internal differences within it;they showcase the academic advancement process within a discipline.Not only do scholars often use the form of evolving from working papers to journal articles and then to academic monographs to enhance the complexity of their discourse,but they also reflect the development trajectory of academic progress over a longer period of time;they incubate scientific communities or academic communities.On the one hand,the formation of communities often exhibits regional characteristics,and on the other hand,different sub-academic communities also influence each other.They cultivate national spirit and the construction of an autonomous knowledge system.The century-long discussion in the discipline of sociology about“Sinicization of sociology”is the best example.Finally,taking the discipline of sociology as an example,this article discusses how academic journals can lead academic development by focusing on the overall situation,as well as the opportunities and challenges that traditional academic journals encounter in the networked era.
