摘　　要：采纳多元系统理论的新视角,运用描写性翻译批评方法论,对《墨子》的英文翻译历程进行深入的历史性考察,旨在揭示其演进的轨迹。本研究旨在阐述以下核心观点:首先,不同历史时期中国文化与英美文化力量对比对中国古典文献英译活动产生了显著的作用;其次,随着历史进程的推进,《墨子》英文译本在英美文化多元系统中的位置及其社会职能经历了相应的转变;最后,典籍文献翻译批评研究应当融合规定性翻译批评与描写性翻译批评,构建一个全方位的翻译批评框架,以推动翻译文学事业的持续繁荣与发展。This study adopts a new perspective based on the Polysystem Theory and apply descriptive translation studies methodology to provide a comprehensive diachronic description of the translation history of Mozi into English,thereby revealing its developmental trajectory.The study strives to clarify the following points:Firstly,the interaction between Chinese and Anglo-American cultural forces has significantly influenced the English translation of Chinese classics at different historical stages;Sec-ondly,as historical periods evolve,the status and social function of the English translations of Mozi in the Anglo-American cultural polysystem have undergone corresponding changes;Ultimately,research in classic translation criticism should integrate prescriptive and descriptive translation criticism stud-ies to construct a comprehensive translation criticism system,thereby promoting the sustained develop-ment of the translation literature industry.
