摘　　要：当代汉学家徐穆实的中国文化和文学翻译涉猎题材广泛,译笔柔美,他对中国少数民族题材文学的翻译在西方世界产生了积极影响。他的翻译行为体现了他作为译者主体的人文精神。透过其个人经历,翻译行为及其系列话语,解读其所抱持深切的人文关怀的成因和向度,对于引发中国翻译界对译者文化自觉和文化担当的当代反思具有启示意义。Contemporary Sinologist Bruce Humes’translation of Chinese culture and literature covers a wide range of themes,and his translation style is gentle and beautiful.Importantly,his translating efforts of Chinese minority subject literature have formed a positive influence in the Western world.His behavior and activities thence reflect the humanistic spirit as a translator.Based on the discussion of his personal experience,translation behavior and discourses,the causes and direction of his deep humanistic care can be interpreted,which has enlightening significance for the Chinese contemporary translators’reflections on the cultural consciousness and responsibility.
