摘  要:Adjuvants increase the efficacy of vaccines by stimulating or boosting the human immune response.QS-21 is a potent vaccine adjuvant extracted from the tree bark of Quillaja saponaria(QS)and is currently the only saponin-based adjuvant approved for use in human vaccines.Over the past 25 years,QS-21 has been tested and validated in over 120 clinical trials and has now been approved for GSK’s malaria(Mosquirix),shingles(Shingrix)vaccines and Novavax’s COVID-19 vaccines.
