摘 要:The circumventricular organs(CVOs)are midline structures located around the third and fourth ventricles(Fig.1A).Due to the absence of the blood-brain barrier,CVOs serve as important communication sites between the brain and the cerebrospinal fluid(CSF),playing essential roles in maintaining homeostasis through blood-brain interactions.Depending on their function,CVOs can be divided into two categories:sensory CVOs that sense environmental cues and transfer signals to other brain regions, and secretory CVOs that secrete hormones and glycoproteins into the blood or CSF.
