Adenia globosa Engler,1891 as a potential host of Baraeus orientalis Aurivillius,1907

摘　　要：Baraeus orientalis Aurivillius,1907 is classified within the family Cerambycidae(Lamiinae:Niphonini).It is found along the East to West coasts of Mid-Africa and has been recorded in Cameroon,Ethiopia,Kenya,Malawi,Namibia,Somalia,Tanzania,Zambia and Zimbabwe(Teocchi,1997;Adlbauer,2000,2001;Tavakilian&Chevillotte,2023).The type locality of B.orientalis is Kigonsera village in Tanzania.Its host plant has remained unknown until the present discovery.Adenia globosa Engler,1891,a succulent plant belonging to the family Passifloraceae,is renowned for its medicinal properties and aesthetic value.The interception of B.orientalis on A.globosa represents a novel finding.
