道统与政统的抉择:管仲形象历史建构的理论进路

摘  要:《论语》中孔子描绘的管仲形象,为后世学者接续塑造。其中,汉魏经学家、宋代事功学派反复彰明管仲的“仁者”身份;宋代道学家集中凸显管仲的“器小”特质;持“汉宋调和”论调的清代儒家学者则能不流一偏,执两用中。在管仲形象呈现的迥异面貌背后,有着较为深刻的政治因由:不同时代,儒家学者在政统、道统抉择上的差异,决定了各自价值标准的分殊,进而促成了管仲形象的不同建构。从管仲形象历史嬗变的理论进路中,能够窥见汉宋学术之流变,亦可对儒学史之演化渊源与历程进行推演。After being depicted by Confucius in The Analects,the image of Guan Zhong has been continuously constructed by scholars in later periods of Chinese history.Confucian scholars of the Han and Wei dynasties,as well as the practical school of the Song dynasty,highlighted Guan Zhong’s being“benevolent”;while Daoist scholars of the Song dynasty emphasized Guan Zhong’s“pettiness”;Confucian scholars of the Qing dynasty,advocating for the“harmony of Han and Song”,tried to avoid bias and chose to be impartial.There lies a political reason in different interpretation of this image:Confucian scholars in different periods chose between political orthodoxy and moral orthodoxy and this choice determined their standards of value,which in turn led to their different interpretations.Evolution of these theoretical approaches to interpreting Guan’s image mirrors the changes in scholarship in Han and Song dynasties,and contributes to deducing the evolution of Confucian as well.
