诗歌的虚构与历史的真实——古罗马诗人贺拉斯笔下的奥古斯都形象

摘　　要：罗马帝国的开创者奥古斯都在当时罗马诗人笔下的形象是什么样的,这些形象真实吗?表面上看这似乎是一个文学领域的问题,但如果对比其他传统史料进行深入研究和准确解读,对于我们客观认识奥古斯都是具有严肃史学意义的。贺拉斯是当时最著名的诗人之一,他与罗马政治关系密切,又接受奥古斯都的文学赞助,他笔下的奥古斯都形象一定带有诗人自身的感情色彩和政治立场。在其诗歌中,贺拉斯生动地刻画了奥古斯都在菲利皮战役和亚克兴海战中所展现的武功和仁慈;事实上,奥古斯都在这两次战役中的武功并不突出,对失败者的处置也不仁慈。贺拉斯用诗歌生动地虚构了历史,其笔下的奥古斯都形象是为奥古斯都的舆论宣传服务的,是奥古斯都实行专制统治的文化工具。What were the images of Augustus in the works of Roman poets?Were these images true?It′s a literary issue on the surface,but if we do research on it by comparing them with traditional historical materials,it possesses a solemn historical significance.Horace was one of the most famous Roman poets at that time.He got patronage from Augustus and deeply involved in Roman politics.The images of Augustus in his works must have his personal feeling and political standpoint.In his works,Horace propagandized Augustus′s military achievements and temperamental benignity in the battle of Philippi and Actium.But we can conclude that Augustus′s military achievements are not prominent and his personality is not benignant by making a comparison with other traditional historical materials,Horace aimed to serve Augustus′s political propaganda and cultural policy by creating Augustus's images.
