In the era of deeply immersive digital communication, the concept of the body is one of the fundamental propositions in media philosophy. The development of new technologies reflects two concurrent ideological trends.First, the concept of the“in the cloud”body represented by the metaverse, where the body is regarded as a digital virtual body.Second, the concept of the“at the terminal”body represented by sensory simulation and body cyborgization, where the body is seen as a technological material body.Essentially, these two concepts of the body still fail to break free from the limitations of the traditional dualism of body and mind.Analyzed from the perspective of panpsychism, the concept of the body with real technological interpretative power evolves from“Being Immersed in the World”to“Befindlichkeit in the World”.This involves achieving the unity of sensory experience, perception and communicative context within new technological environments through embodied communication. Its characteristics are as follows:(1)holographic interaction:the liberation of immersive experience scenes;(2)situational linkage:the unity of the body and context in embodied communication;(3)empathetic understanding:concern for the living conditions of the subject.
