评析保罗批判性思维理论若干关键词的汉译

摘　　要：理查德·保罗和琳达·埃尔德创立的批判性思维理论有着广泛的国际影响。该理论的不少代表作都有汉译本。中国系统引进该理论的最大工程莫过于外语教学与研究出版社(高等英语教育出版分社)印行的原版(英语)“思想者指南系列丛书”(21种)。但编者对这套丛书中几本小册子名称的汉译并不准确,尤其是对critical thinking、human mind、substantive writing和fallacies这些关键词的不当翻译,严重影响对这种极具特色的批判性思维理论的理解和应用。因此,有必要深入探究这些术语的译法,准确把握保罗-埃尔德批判性思维的精神和内核。The theory of critical thinking developed by Richard Paul and Linda Elder has had a wide international impact.Many representative works of this theory have been translated into Chinese.The biggest project of systematic introduction of the theory is the original(English)“Thinker’s Guide Series”(21 titles)published by FLTRP(Higher English Education Publishing).However,the editor’s Chinese translation of the titles of several pamphlets in the series is not accurate.In particular,the improper translation of some key words like critical thinking,human mind,substantive writing and fallacies seriously affects the understanding and application of this characteristic critical thinking theory.Therefore,it is necessary to deeply explore the translation of these terms and accurately grasp the spirit and core of Paul-Elder’s critical thinking.
