摘　　要：This is an invited commentary on the paper by Zou et al,accepted for publication in World Journal of Psychiatry.It reflects the findings of the authors in the broader context of the search for scientifically sound and evidence based nomothetic system for diagnosis and treatment in psychiatry,with a special focus on the application of translational neuroimaging in that effort.
