摘　　要：19世纪西方汉学家中,巴赞的戏曲翻译成绩最为引人瞩目。他译介了诸多元杂剧和南戏剧本,并对戏曲进行了系统研究。巴赞的译介,使西方得以了解中国元杂剧的完整面貌及内涵,而他翻译的《琵琶记》又为西方打开了接触南戏剧作的窗口。在前行者马若瑟、戴维斯和儒莲开辟的戏曲翻译道路上,巴赞做出了明显的拓展与延伸,开拓了一条“直译”和“意译”结合的路径,为后世汉学家积累了更加成熟的译曲经验。Antoine Bazin,who made the highest achievement in traditional chinese theatre translation among sinologists in the 19th century.He translated and introduced the most Yuan-Dynasty Zaju and Nanxi scripts,and made a systematic study of traditional chinese theatre.Bazan's translations allowed the West to understand the form and connotations of Yuan-Dynasty Zaju,and his translation of Pipa Tale gave the West its first exposure to Nanxi.Bazan improved on the translations of Joseph de Premare,John F.Davis and Stanislas Julien by using a combination of"literal translation"and"liberal translation",which provided a new template for translating traditional chinese theatre.
