Hepatic fibrosis is a potential pathological stage of many chronic liver diseases.Without effective treatment,it may eventually develop into cirrhosis and liver cancer.Notch signaling pathway is an ancient and conserved signaling pathway that regulates hepatocytes, hepatic stellate cells and macrophages in the process of hepatic fibrosis.Traditional Chinese medicine,as a special treatment method in China, has a unique advantage in the treatment of hepatic fibrosis.Studies have shown that Chinese medicine can interfere with the expression of Notch signaling pathway, thereby inhibiting inflammatory response, reducing the deposition of fiber components, and easing the progression of hepatic fibrosis. This article introduced the structure of Notch signaling pathway and its influence on the progression of hepatic fibrosis, and the regulation of Notch signaling pathway by Chinese medicine monomers and Chinese medicine compounds, aiming to explore the target and application prospect of Chinese medicine in the treatment of liver fibrosis, and provide useful reference for further clinical research.
