摘　　要：中国古代小说观念与西方现代小说观念有着不同的文化背景和思想内涵,用西方现代小说观念来认识中国古代小说,描述中国古代小说的发展,难免会郢书燕说,也必然会引起许多争论。因此,清理中国小说观念发展的历史,探寻中国小说观念发展的历史逻辑,便成为当代古代小说研究者义不容辞的责任。建构中国古代小说观念发展史应该从中国文化本位出发,根据中国古代小说发展的历史实际,客观地探讨各个时代的小说作者、小说文体、小说观念的存在形态,探讨具体学者对于小说概念的实际见解,探讨不同历史时期的小说观念之间的传承、演进、变异和重组,使我们能够对中国古代小说观念的发展有比较接近历史真实的理解,为继承和弘扬中国古代小说的优良传统提供思想资源和历史经验。The conceptions of traditional Chinese fiction and modern Western fiction are rooted in distinct cultural backgrounds and possess different ideological connotations.The application of the conceptions of modern Western fiction to comprehend and depict the development of traditional Chinese fiction is prone to inevitable errors and controversies.Consequently,it has become an inescapable responsibility for contemporary scholars of classical fiction studies to clarify the historical development of Chinese fiction conceptions and explore the historical logic underlying this evolution.Constructing a history of traditional Chinese fiction conceptions should commence from a Chinese cultural perspective,objectively examining the existence of the authors,genres,and conceptions of fictional works across various historical eras based on their actual historical development.This endeavor involves probing into the actual insights of specific scholars regarding the conception of novels,and exploring the inheritance,evolution,variation,and reconstruction of fiction conceptions over different historical periods.Such efforts will enable a historically authentic understanding of the development of traditional Chinese fiction conceptions,thereby providing ideological resources and historical experience for the inheritance and promotion of the fine traditions of traditional Chinese fiction.
