摘　　要：蜚声英国文坛的当代小说家A.S.拜厄特,以其丰富的叙事风格和对文学、艺术以及心理学的深刻理解而著称。《传记家的故事》中主人公费尼亚斯·纳森(Phineas G.Nanson)的叙事视角贯穿全书。纳森对传主身份的探索、追求真相的过程中,先后经历了困惑、怀疑到最终自我觉醒和顿悟,这一过程可以被看作是对叙事自我的探索。纳森反思自己的角色和身份,通过自我探寻,从碎片化的自我认知出发,在共同体中逐渐整合自我认同,叙事成为了他自我生成的途径。从英国著名伦理家麦金太尔的叙事统一性和叙事共同体理论视角来探析纳森的成长之旅——自我反叛、自我探寻和自我生成。这一研究对于理解传记写作的复杂性、个体自我认同的形成以及叙事自我的重要性都具有重要意义。A.S.Byatt,a famous contemporary novelist in British literature,is known for her rich narrative style and deep understanding of literature,art and psychology.In The Biographer's Tale,the narrative perspective of Phineas G.Nanson runs through the book.In the process of exploring the identity of the master and pursuing the truth,Nanson successively experienced confusion,doubt to the final self-awakening and insight,which can be regarded as the exploration of the narrative self.Reflecting on his role and identity,through self-exploration,starting from the fragmented self-cognition,Nanson gradually integrates self-identity in the self-recognition,and narrative has become a way of his self-generation.From the perspective of British renowned ethicist Alasdair McIntyre's narrative unity and narrative community theory,this paper analyzes Nathan's growth journey-self-rebellion,self-exploration and self-generation.This research is important for understanding the complexity of biographical writing,the formation of individual self-identity,and the importance of narrative self.
