摘  要:跨界搜索是动态竞争环境下企业提高新产品开发(NPD)成功率的重要策略,但现有研究对二者相互作用的内在机理探讨不足,尤其对不同跨界搜索策略之间平衡与互补作用的理解有待深入。本研究基于资源基础观、双元理论与组织搜索理论,根据我国制造企业的大样本问卷调查数据,实证检验双元跨界搜索对NPD绩效的影响机理。结果发现:双元跨界搜索平衡及互补均正向影响NPD绩效;组织双元性在双元跨界搜索平衡及互补与NPD绩效的关系中发挥部分中介作用;柔性惯例复制负向调节双元跨界搜索平衡及互补与组织双元性之间的关系,常规惯例复制仅削弱双元跨界搜索平衡与组织双元性之间的关系;两类惯例复制的联合调节作用增强双元跨界搜索互补对组织双元性的正向影响。进一步分析表明,不同规模、不同年龄的企业在上述结果中具有异质性。研究结论不仅揭示了双元跨界搜索影响NPD绩效的作用机制及边界条件,也为企业管理者有效利用不同跨界搜索策略提高NPD成功率提供了实践启示。Improving the success rate of New Product Development(NPD)remains a challenging yet pressing issue confronting managers of global enterprises.Amidst the sluggish growth of the world economy and the uncertainties surrounding the domestic economic recovery post-epidemic,boundary-spanning search(BS)has emerged as a crucial strategy for firms to surmount internal resource limitations and tap into external sources of innovation.While prior research suggests that NPD success stems from the interplay and joint impetus of a company’s internal and external resources,it has yet to delve into the underlying mechanism connecting BS and NPD performance.In real-world scenarios,enterprise managers are also tasked with navigating the tradeoffs associated with various BS strategies throughout the NPD process.Therefore,it is imperative further to elucidate the equilibrium and synergy between different BS strategies,thereby assisting companies in boosting the success rate of their NPD endeavors.Although previous studies have put forward many insights on the driving factors of NPD performance,there are still the following limitations:First,although“proactive-following”BS can provide differentiated external resources for NPD,the mechanism of the balance of ambidextrous BS(BABS)and the complementarity of ambidextrous BS(CABS)on NPD performance remain to be revealed.Second,different BS strategies can only bring external resources to enterprises,and how to screen,integrate,and apply these unique resources depends on the organic coordination of organizational exploration and exploitation capabilities.Still,most existing studies have discussed the direct impact of ambidextrous BS on enterprise innovation performance,and few studies have clarified the role of organizational ambidexterity(OA)in the relationship between ambidextrous BS and NPD performance.Third,in order to realize the value creation of new products,organizations need to successfully match different routine replications and ambidextrous capabilities.As two classificatio
