中华思想文化术语翻译多样性的隐转喻观照——以法译“身”为例

摘　　要：本研究以中华思想文化术语“身”在《道德经》中的法译为例,将翻译多样性研究置于翻译隐转喻视域中,通过认知转喻描写方案建立隐转喻分析模型,并将“身”在原文和4个经典译本中的义项带入模型进行分析。研究发现,翻译隐喻作为译文对原文语义层级的忠实回溯,是导致译文趋同的重要因素;翻译转喻从意义发生机制这一底层系统对原文做出不同方向和样态的改变和引申,是翻译差异化和多样化的内在动因。两者都受到原文语义迁移程度的影响。鉴于中华古代典籍是思想文化术语的主要来源,因此在持续推出术语和典籍的官方译本的同时,同样应该关注与其相关的汉语今译今注权威版本的编撰和对外推广,为国外持续的民间重译活动提供语言与文化指导,才能达到正本清源、塑造中华文化本真形象的目的。This article conducts a case study on the French translation of“Shen”(body),a key concept in Chinese thought and culture in Tao Te King,examining the translation diversity within the theoretical framework of metaphtonymy in translation.With the assistance of a cognitive metonymic description scheme,we established a metaphtonymic analysis model to study the meaning interrelationships of“Shen”in the original text and its four classic translations.The research indicates that metaphor of translation,as a faithful retracing of the original texts semantics in the translation,is a crucial factor leading to consistency among translations.Metonym of translation,however,makes various changes and extensions to the original text from the underlying system of meaning generation mechanism,serving as the intrinsic motivation for translation differentiation and diversification.Both of these are influenced by the semantic migration in the original text.Given that ancient Chinese classics are the main source of key concepts,while continuing to publish official translations of classics,attention should also be paid to the compilation and promotion of authoritative modern Chinese translations,providing language and cultural guidance for sustained folk retranslation activities abroad,in order to achieve the goal of clarifying the source and shaping the true image of Chinese culture.
