摘  要:被誉为“才子和戏剧家”的奥斯卡王尔德是英国文坛的一颗明珠,其文学创作更是一直践行了他“艺术是为了创造美”的主张,无论现实题材的社会风俗喜剧还是虚幻题材的荒诞悲剧。仅凭四部妙语连珠的风俗喜剧和一部唯美叙事表达突出的悲剧《莎乐美》就奠定了他在英国戏剧文坛不可撼动的地位,使之可以与当时著名剧作家萧伯纳齐名。这些剧作在中国的五四时期掀起了译介热潮,且之后每部作品的翻译都不断推陈出新,对当时中国文学创作影响甚深。Oscar Wilde is one of the greatest dramatists in British literature and his masterpieces are the four comedies of manners and the only tragedy Salome,in which he fully practiced his belief that art is for the creation of beauty.The comedies are known for their witty dialogues and the tragedy for its aesthetic narrative.These works were translated into Chinese during the May Fourth Movement period,which attracted great attention among writers and exerted much influence on their literary creation at that time.Thereafter,new versions came out constantly throughout the time.
